An Atlantic Puffin returns from the sea with a beak full of fish for it's young. A species which has always captivated me, I had hoped to see these birds on my trip to Iceland, and was not disappointed when this one paused briefly on a nearby rock almost as soon as I stepped foot on the remote Vigur Island in Iceland's Westfjords.

Mix an Atlantic Puffin, a remote island, long grass and a windy, blustery day and you get this image. I like that it gives a feel of the Icelandic environment in which the puffin makes its home while also managing to look soft and dreamy like a watercolour painting.

Red-footed Boobies make their nests amidst the dense forest of Christmas Island. Flying through the forest is not always easy, and so it is not uncommon to see the birds collecting nesting material along the clearer roadsides. By standing in the middle of the steep, but luckily not busy, Lily Beach Road I was able to capture this booby as it carried is prise back to the nest.
