Jasmine Skye Smith Wins the Ilford Trophy

Congratulations to Jasmine Skye Smith, the "2024 Ilford Professional Photography of the Year" with her amazing collection of underwater portraits.

The awards presentation night was one of surprises and celebration as the awards for best prints, category winners and special individual awards, with Chris Saunders winning the "Richard Woldendorp Award" (sponsored by Team Digital)  and Johannes Reinhart taking out the Izzy Orloff Award (sponsored by Camera Electronic).

The Ilford Best Print of the entire competition was also collected by Johannes with the image "Flying away to a land of dreams, where magic never ends".

One of the more poignant moments of the night was a moving and heart-felt (and entertaining) tribute to the late Phil England, a prominant and highly respected craftsman of the commercial photogaphy industry. Jake England (Phil's son) provide a wonderful and personal insight living with Phil and the life of a pro photographer. Phil will always be remembered as a truly professional photographer, abound with creativity and humor. Vale Phil England.

The State Library of Western Australia through their SLWA Manager Heritage and Engagement, David Craddock is again  supporting the Ilford Orloff Award by providing the venue for the awards presentation evening and the Ilford Orloff Exhibition which is on display at the State Library until the 18th February 2025.
